Under Construction

Thank you for your patience and understanding while the site is under construction. Creating a website is new to me and web building skills were definitely not in my wheelhouse. This site is about peace, so peace has been made with that fact as work on the site moves forward.

The site launched a month ago and new content has been added weekly. Knowing nothing about creating a webpage, the chosen web builder was not the best choice. It was good in that it was easy to use and was intuitive. It was easy to see how to build pages and the site. However, it did not have the flexibility to do some things wanted for the site. After doing a little research, WordPress seemed a good choice because of its balance of having more flexibility with design and being recommended for newbies. WordPress is not as intuitive as WebBuilder was but after viewing tutorials, the website is beginning to take shape and grow into its intended form.  It was necessary to take down the previous version of the website, delete WebBuilder, install WordPress, then recreate the site from scratch.

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi said that, “Whatever we put our attention on will grow stronger in our life.” With that in mind this site intends not only to be an exploration of peace but a tool to help create peace, and objective awareness into my life. Again, thank you for checking out the site and more importantly your interest in peace. Perhaps if more of us put our attention on peace, peace will grow stronger in our lives. The three paragraphs above were posted on the DiamanteLuz main page while the site was being rebuilt with WordPress.  It is interesting how more ideas come once writing has begun.  The intent was to write a brief explanation of why the site looked different and why content that had previously been on the site may not be there now.  As the third paragraph took form, a realization materialized that the seemingly cumbersome task of learning new software and rebuilding the site was itself a step on the path to peace.  I could feel frustrated at having to learn something new and redo what had already been done or simply accept that it needed to be done and do it in peace without adding the mind-layers of feeling it was cumbersome, difficult, not intuitive, time consuming, and a repeat of what had already been done. Those thoughts created angst and only acted to slow down progress.  

The newly rebuilt site will include flexibility that was not there in the site’s original iteration.  Rebuilding requires time and learning, but so what.  It feels less cumbersome and less difficult accepting that it must be done, accepting it as an opportunity for growth and learning, and letting go of the mind-layers the ego piled on. Letting go of angst is a practice like meditation.  In meditating the breath is the focus but soon the mind wanders from the breath and thinks about other things.  Then the awareness that the breath is no longer the focus is realized and the focus returns to the breath.  The practice of letting go of angst and returning focus to the moment when realizing the ego layered on feckless thoughts is a practice just as returning the focus to the breath when meditating is a practice.

In the end, having let go of malaise, the site will be better and perhaps I will have taken a step further on the path to peace.
